Edit with video purchased through iTunes
Posted by Andrew Thompson on March 19, 2013 at 4:05 amIm trying to edit a video purchased through itunes store and have hit a brick wall. It won’t import directly, quicktime won’t record it and neither will SNAPZ Pro. Does anyone know how to break through this problem?

March 19, 2013 at 1:58 pmIt’s a DRM issue. Same thing used to happen with songs purchased through iTunes – importing via QuickTime saw the DRM and refused to process – same thing for video I suspect.

March 19, 2013 at 2:41 pmAh, the old DRM! I thought I read somewhere that apple had stopped using DRM on itunes? I don’t tend to buy anything from itunes but it’s good to have a heads up if the need ever arises!

March 19, 2013 at 2:51 pmThey stopped it on music, not video… that’s a whole different negotiation with the studios. I don’t see that going away any time soon.

March 21, 2013 at 3:35 amA quick google search should give you results on how to defeat it, I’ve had to do it a few times with an item I’ve purchased. I believe Lifehacker had the article? I think…
