Trying to cut in / out 3 new shots in an existing previously mastered 12 minute video which I had just output an hour ago. I don’t want to have to layback the whole damned thing.

Read the book and tried as follow:

    1. Mark In and Out in my sequence at head and tail of cut points for scene.
    2. Close sequence
    3. Open Edit to tape
    4. Type in In point on Master ( making sure my destination tracks are set to V1
and that deck controls RS-422 are set Drop Down set to Editing Not Mastering
    yada yada yada.
    5. Drag sequence from Browser into Edit to Tape window using Insert.
    6. Deck cues and makes a 1 frame edit or I get a warning saying I am gonna make
a 1 frame edit etc etc.

I know my in and out points are at least 5 seconds apart and thought I only need an In point for 3 point editing in the Edit to Tape window.

BTW I am using FCP 4 on G5 / Aja IO / Digi Beta DVW-A500.

I have reset / re started all and used Final Cut Rescue to trash prefs.

This is driving me nuts Please help. THANKS…………….

    Try this:
Load the Sequence into the Viewer, then drag it into the ETT window.

You might also try changing your mark in and out timecodes just a few frames. That usually fixes it for me. It seems that FCP doesn’t like certain in points for no apparent reason.
