    Hi-

For some unknown reason (it’s worked before with this setup) I can’t seem to get my
code straight in edit to tape. The show starts at
    00:58:45:00 I black the tape from TC 00:58:00:00. I
then type in 00:58:45:00 in the lower left hand box in
the ETT window, drag the sequence onto the assemble
button and hit enter. It then fast forwards the tape to 00:58:42:00 (3 secs of preroll) What’s happening is the show is
starting at 00:58:45:00 but there is :45 seconds of
black before it. As you could guess I need it to start
at 00:58:45:00 with bars and not :45 of black
preceding it. I have the Rec Mode of the deck set to
tape rather than INT as in INT I can’t even get it to
lock at all. I’ve tried in both “Mastering” and
Editing” and still no luck. Am I doing something
    stupid again?

Sounds like the edit to tape option is set to Mastering not Edit . Check it out.

    Unfortunately I’m in Edit mode.

When I black a tape, I usually start the black 5 sec before I want it to record… in your case start the black at 00:58:40;00.. just a thought.
