  • Edit To Tape – Video Not Working

Posted by Crys on April 3, 2008 at 2:43 pm

In FCP, I can work and see all my video on the broadcast monitor. When i try Edit to Tape, the signal going to my Digibeta has either noise or a black screen. Audio works fine. The signal is sent SDI to the digibeta.

I checked all the cables, checked my sequence settings, shut down everything and restarted, etc. but nothing seems to solve the problem.

This particular sequence I’m trying to ETT has worked before on this system, so I have no idea why it is no longer working correctly.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Are you doing a downconvert perhaps?

What format is your easy setup in right now?

No, not doing a downconvert. My Easy Setup is set as NTSC, Uncompressed 8-bit NTSC 48 kHz. The sequence is the same. Do I need to change something in the Easy Setup?

No, but do me a favor and hit control-q and reset up your easy setup.

    Then try the ETT again.

Sorry if this is a “no brainer” question (I’m new to FCP) but what exactly does ctrl-q do? My guess is it resets the easy setup back to default?

Control-q is the keyboard shortcut to allow you to choose your easy setup.
