    Hi all,
I’m trying to “edit to tape” onto a dsr-20. The option to do this is grayed out. What I really need to do is have the timecode on the tape be the same as my timeline. Any ideas on how to do this? I’m running FCP 4.5 on a dual 1G G4. I’ve done this with DigiBeta a while back, but don’t remember what I did. I don’t even know if it will work with the DSR-20. Thanks in advance!

Does your DSR-20 allow you to set the TC? If so, then you pre-stripe your tape, then set an in in the ETT window. Otherwise, you’ll need to search on Apple’s web site for a program called ‘Simple Video Out’. You’ll use that to pre-stripe your tape with timecode by exporting a QT movie from FCP that has TC, & using SVO to record that to tape. You then go back to FCP & lay your show off to tape using Edit to Tape. Consult the FCP manual if you need help using ETT in FCP.
