I made a video with some added persons names in front of them. I mispelled some names. It was simple text (white default). Is there a way to edit the name and place the corrected text over the misspelled one thereby “covering up” the error?

    Thanks for any help.

    Great forums.

What format did you render to? If it’s MPEG2, you can drop the render on the timeline and split the section that needs fixing and add a track above it to cover up the error with the correct text (assuming the text is on a lower third that can totally cover the video). Then when you render again, hopefully Vegas will “smart render” the rest of the MPEG2 file which just copies the existing frames that are unchanged without re-rendering them. If that doesn’t work, you can use a tool like Womble to patch the MPEG2 file with a new section with the name fixed.
