I am playing a JVC HR 9600 vcr into a canopus 110 to capture my SVHS, VHS tapes. Most say play the tapes in the “edit” mode with the TBC on. This will give you the clearest picture. I’m not getting a lot of “noise” so it seems OK

Others say that I should use the NORMAL mode (the auto mode with the calibrator off). That in EDIT mode you are not making use of the JVC’s filters.

Others say unless it’s in edit mode the picture is too soft.

Which mode would you suggest would be best.
