  Edit Illustrator Path in AE

  Say I draw an object in Illustrator and importer for use in AE. Is there a way that I can edit/animate the control points of the Illustrator path within After Effects?

  I’ve got an Illustrator composition with two layers. I selected the layer I wanted to animate, went to Edit Original, and copied the path. Well, when I pasted back in AE, it gave me like 12 masks and put them in the center of the comp, rather than over the original shape. And why 12 masks? That’s crazy.
