Edit DVCProHD over gigabit network
So – while discussing what way to put a fileserver for project files, PSD files and stuff (all in RAID5) we eventually started discussing how to keep all assets on a network server connected to FCP.
From what I understand – using a gigabit Ethernet would teoretically allow to 8 simultaneous DVCProHD 720 streams.
I don’t think we ever have had so many tracks at the same time in a sequence.
What are the technical requirements (speed, etc) to build a video server?
This is all new – so far we have had all the assets on project disks, hooked up over FW800 or eSATA.
