    Hi
I am now preparing to edit one cg film in FCP. The work flow for this film is that the graphics guys export
both offline and .dpx from their software after that I will edit that movie in fcp and then re-conform it to the .dpx file in color.
The question is that how can we add same time code track to .dpx and .mov
Anybody knows this if you give me a proper replay it will help me alot.

    Hi Dhanil,

A quick google came up with this:

    https://www.monkeyjob.com/DPX-TimeCode-Editor.htm

But I haven’t used it myself. You might also want to look into the command line version of Shake or imagemagick (truth be told I’m not sure if they’ll do what you want though … I haven’t played with either in a while). I’d imagine the easiest solution would be to create some sort of script that would run post-render and apply the timecode. But I’m curious why you are conforming using Color. Aren’t there better tools for this kind of job?

    Thanks Lyon
I will talk to my motion graphics guys. I think your replay will very help full to sort out this problem.
We decided to grade on color because we are focusing a cutting edge business.

    Hi Dhanil,

Hopefully it isn’t too late, but you should also check out the “Glue Tools” DPX plugin for FCP:

    https://www.gluetools.com/products_dpx.html

I forgot about this the first time I responded to your post.
