Edit a 3gp video file?
Got a client who shot his footage with his Android phone (ouch) and wants it edited – says it’s in 3gp format…how would I best edit this? What to do to transcode it for FCP…open it in what software?

Hi Kent,
Transcode it to any FC editable codec (8b Unc, Prores), then edit in FC.
When you transcode, keep all the original setting: Size, pixels, time base,..

Thanks Rafael – so I can just open it in QT Pro, transcode it to Pro res 422 and go edit?

MPGStreamclip is a great tool for conversions.
