    Hi,

First off i’m not sure where to post this question so please forgive me if it should go elsewhere.

This summer I am intending to shoot my first HD feature film, using a Canon xh-a1 – which I will be buying around june-july.

My question is to do with post – when the time comes for editing, should I try to edit in HD or should I just crop and shrink the footage to SD (720×576 PAL). I’m intending to use Premiere Pro CS3 in conjunction with After Effects for post. The intended final output will likely be a DVD, but I would like to be able to convert to 35mm in the future, or to bluray and such.

What are the pros and cons of editing in HD & SD, and how easy would it be for me to remaster a HD edit for dvd?

    Thanks,

    Luke
