  edge light

  I keep hearing about “edge lighting”, but I’m not sure what it is. I come from a basic three-point lighting shool of thought, so can anyone out there enlighten me? I assume it is the very thin edge of hard light around a side of the face/chin that I see in ESPN/HBO SPORTS docs…
