eclipse test failed – protokol screenshots …
hi there,

and now they’ve sent the ddp2.0 dvd (udf) masters to an other stamper house.
The eclipse test failed on both, the dvd9 and dvd5 masterHere are the screens of the protokolls:

weird things I’ve noticed so far:
where is the layer1 protokoll?
was it tested/read from the dvd drive which caused the error?
job terminated by user before the second error occoured..?!and i have no clue at all what that second error (VOBU) is or what it might could cause.
From the german replicator I already got the final products here and they are working fine on every player. They had no problem at all. The masters were tested with dvdafteredit mastering edition before sending them out.
The masters for the usa were created exactly the same way and I’ve also sent safety copies.
… also a test dl-dvd of the actual ddp2.0 master that went to the usa is working fine.I still think the masters are ok but if eclipse doesn’t say so… mhhhh big problem.
what do you think should I do now?thank you so much,

Hi Silvio,
Your Images are probably fine, but MediaOne is either having problems reading your DVD-R’s, or there’s an error on your platters (have you been appropriately admonished yet not to use DVD-R for Image replication submission?).
I’ve got a plan, but I’ve already passed my limit of one job offering per week on the boards, so we’ll have to think of something else. In the meanwhile, you should resubmit on DLT IV tapes written by a DLT 8000 drive (DLT 4000’s can be troublesome at replicators at times, too).

thanks for your response!
No i wasn’t warned. They actually (after matually agreed sending them ddp masters on dvd) wanted me suddenly to send VIDEO-DVDs for masters because their first stamper house can’t do ddp.
Then the second stamper house failed at the eclipse test with the ddp masters.
the log files/screens show that the job was terminated before the test was finished. could that be the cause of the last error with the vobu lenght ?
