eckLink HD Pro PCI-X and 2K
Hi!
I have a Blackmagic Design DeckLink HD Pro PCI-X card for quite some time and I am happy with it.
The direct competitor for this card is the AJA Kona 3 card. They have the Kona 3x which can do 2K for PCI-X machines.
Why can’t Blackmagic integrate 2K support as well for the Decklink HD Pro card? This effectively leaves out the PCI-X system owners as far as 2K editing/playback is concerned. Their only solution is to switch from Blackmagic to AJA. I don’t want to do that – I want to stick with Blackmagic – but currently there is no true 2K solution for PCI-X systems. I know that the Decklink pro card can crop 2K to 1080 but that is not a viable solution.
I wish Blackmagic would be able to offer what AJA offers for the PCI-X machines. Is it possible? Is it hard to integrate true 2K support in the HDLink Pro card? Since others can do it, it must be possible.
Thanks!
Mike
