    Morning People!

I have searched the tutorials and forums but found not much in the way of assistance for my particular problem, although I have found some great tips on wind reduction using iZotope!

I fear it is going to be a case of a lesson learnt however I thought I would ask anyway.

I recently filmed a Wedding Video and the audio from the Church came out horribly. I used two camera’s – Sony HDR SR12 and a Sony HDR SR7 using the inbuilt microphone (here lies the obvious mistake). The priest was difficult to hear even on the day, but combined with the echo and reverb of the church the recording is very bad. I am happy to post a sample if required.

Is there any way of cleaning this up, even marginally? I could even perhaps live with the echo providing the reverb was gone

    Regards

    James Souter

I just did a wedding video using 2 cameras similar to yours. One camera was unmanned and I used a Sony ECM-HW1 wireless microphone on the person performing the ceremony. The audio was very clear with no echo. I used a Sony ECM-HST1 mini shot gun mic on the camera I was shooting with. I narrowed the setting to 90 degrees and the sound was good but not as good as the wireless. I noticed on one of my audio tracks that there was an echo. I opened the audio FX on that track and noticed that the reverb box was checked although I never even used it before. After unchecking the box the reverb was no longer there. I’m not one of the experts who normally answer these posts, but your problem seemed rather familiar. Hope this helps you.

    Thanks for the reply!

The reverb/echo isn’t checked in vegas so it looks like I am out of luck. Next time I will need to use a real Mic!
