  • Easy question regarding audio

I’m a new user to final cut (version 4, express). I have a separate audio clip for some footage. I’m simply trying to sync this audio with the video. I’m fairly close, within a quarter of a second, but I don’t know how to make slight adjustments of the audio track in the timeline. Every time I try to move it slightly, it’s too far one way or the other. There must be a better way!

Select the clip and use the bracket keys [ and ] between p and back slash to nudge the clip up and down the timeline by one frame.

You might also add a marker to the video at some easy to sync point, find the same point on the audio and add a marker there. Then grab the clip at the marker and drag it so the markers snap to each other.

    All the best,

    Tom

Hold the option key while you drag the audio, and it will move in 1 frame increments.
