I am interested in bringing a still image into a project and being able to “ease it in” similar to the Ease In command in AE. I can’t seem to get this to work using time remapping. Is there another way to do this?

    Thanks,

Time remapping is for speed changes, but I don’t think that’s what you’re doing. If you’re animating the motion, right-click on the green keyframe dots in the canvas and select ease in/ease out.

    Tom,

    Thanks for your reply.
    Green keyframe dots?
I control/clicked on the center of the image in the canvas and then I see a dialouge box that says “ease in/ ease out”. OK, I selected that, then what? And nothing seems to change or open up. Can I make adjustments somewhere?

Make sure the canvas is set to Image+Wireframe. Is this image being animated? Is that what you’re doing? Then the green dots should not be in the center of the screen if you’re animating the center point. Adding easing to the center keyframes in the canvas will add Bezier handles that control the curvature of the motion and the easing of the acceleration or deceleration.

Or are you animating scale? Easing on scale is done in the motion tab of the viewer. If you pull the window out so it’s wide enough you’ll see the keyframe graph and keyframes for scale. Right-click on those and select Smooth.

    All the best,

    Tom

    Thanks Tom,
    OK, I got it.

Does this only work on end points… I’m using keyframed motion to reframe a shot during a rack focus… the shot has already been moved and I’ve got a 3 point (start middle end) reframe that happens. When I ease in/out the middle point, the frame goes walkabout. It’s infuriating as I’m not doing any side to side movement. Can I separate the handles for in and out somehow like I would in PS?
