    Hello,

I was wondering who is using e-sata external storage with FCP and what specific model PCIe card i should purchase to go into my MacPro 3.2Quad/10gbram/10.5.6/FCP 6.0.5 machine?

If you have a link to any e-sata cards that you have tested or reviews, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mike V

    Mike,

Lots of people here are using all kinds of very good SATA cards, but no one can help you without knowing precisely which enclosure(s) you’re going to be using. If you want good answers specifics are always important…

I’ve been using a Firmtek 2-Drive external eSATA enclosure (Seritek/2EN2) along with a two channel eSATA card (Seritek/2SE2e) with good results. I did need to update the firmware in the enclosure when I hooked it up but it’s been rock solid in everyday use.
I have it in a Promac Octo machine.

    Thanks.

My client has media on (2)

WD My Book Studio Edition II-2TB external drives

I’d like to work straight from them if possible via eSata.
