I am making an animation where the camera pulls up from inside a blender while it is getting filled with all kind of stuff, some small objects some a bit larger. My problem is that they are a moving around and vibrating crazy like. I turned up my steps per frame but that did not seem to make it better, maybe made it worse. Any suggestions on other settings to get dozens if not hundreds of objects to settle into a container like a blender?

in the help Dynamics/Tips and Tricks/The Party’s Over says most of it but I would add (if it’s not there) to turn Collision Noise for all tags down to 0 – that adds a bit of randomness to all collisions where it is none 0 – looks natural but adds energy to the system

Thanks. I tried that but only seemed to make it worse for some reason. its a lot of small objects interacting with some slightly larger ones and it just buzzes around like crazy still.

“Increase the Linear Damping and Angular Damping values.
Reducing the Bounce value and increasing the Friction value will also help take the energy out of the Clones.
Increase the Linear Velocity Threshold and Angular Velocity Threshold values.
If this doesn’t help just use steamroller tactics: If Time Scale is set to 0 the simulation will freeze instantly.”

Not that I’ve done all that much really but I’ve never had to get to the steamroller tactics, the others have always done it. And remember you can keyframe all those values. You can let everything get where you need it then ramp some or all of those values up/down to kill the energy of the dynamics
