There is a company out of Canada who has a plug-in set called Film Effects and in particular, a plug-in called “G Film Flash Filter” which does the following:

G Film Flash is both a transition and a filter that flashes the video to brightness, as if the video had been over-exposed like film in a camera as it speeds up at the start of filming and slows down at the end of filming. The filter version also has the option to adjust the speed of the video to add extra verisimilitude to the effect.

I’d be happy to purchase the package but it’s only made for Final Cut. So my question is, is there any similar program out there which simplifies the ” film flash” process for Avid? I am working on duplicating the process using speed ramps and a couple 55mm plug-ins but would still like to know if a program like this exists for PC or more specifically for Avid Adrenaline. I can easily recreate the flash but the speed down/speed up dynamic is what I’d like to get a better handle on using time warp.

I have always liked Saphire’s glows. Since BCC comes included now, I have grown quite fond of BCC’s glow. It adds more saturation than Sapphire’s. Two different vibes really and they can easily be combined for that perfect look.
