  • Dynamic Link to AE for Export after using AE replacement

So, I’m playing around with creating my own DCP and am following this guy’s tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DKYY3DuDA8

So I’m kind of finnicky with generations of compression when using DSLR footage so I edit in Premiere Pro and replace with After Effects compositions using the dynamic link to do processing and effects work.

I know it’s debatable when working witb 8 bit DSLR footage, but I’d like to export the TIFF sequence in a 16bit environment with trillions of colors like the tutorial says. So with “you won’t see the difference” aside, I’d like to try and get it to work if only for the theoretical value.

When I import the PP sequence into AE and make a comp out of it, the comp’s timeline doesn’t contain any footage. If I double click on the media, though, I can scroll through the sequence. I’ve tried opening a new instance of AE in terminal using the -n flag, but that didn’t work either.

Any ideas or obvious steps i’m missing?

Working in CS6 on OSX Mountain Lion.
