I’m trying to give Dynamic link a serious try but am finding a major stumbling block.

Why is it that an AE composition that takes 5-10 min to RAM preview in AE then takes 2 hours to preview render in PPRo2? I thought they shared the pool of preview renders.

Would it be due to some mismatch of settings?

I have a Decklink Extreme card, could it have anything to do with it?

I’m working in standard NTSC, 4Gb RAM, Dual 3.2 XEON extreme edition, 4Drive RAID5 SATA array.

How complex is your AE animation? If it’s not too big to email or upload, can you send me a copy of it? I will be happy to test it out for you.

I’ll email it to you. I managed to distill the project down to just the background element that I created with the fractal noise effect and PPro2 still reports it will take hours to render. I’ve given it about 20 minutes just to make sure it looked like it would actually take that long. AE renders this in 5-10 min.
