dynamic link from Premiere changing interlacing?
I have a short, six minute sequence in PPro CS6, edited at 1920 x 1080, 29.97p. I’m using dynamic link to send the sequence to Encore. The Blu Ray project in Encore insists on changing the interlacing to upper field first instead of maintaining the progressive frame rate. Why? Thanks in advance for any help–I’m an Encore newbie.

Fair enough–that answers that.
Another question: Would it make more sense to interlace the footage at 1920×1080 or to keep the progressive frames and jump down to 1280×720 59.94p? Or does that make no sense at all??

You have progressive video so it’s as simple as conforming your 30 fps framerate to 23.98. TCs are just numbers in this situation. I use Cinema Tools for this.
Search around the cow for some good advice as well conforming 30p to 23.98p
