  • Dynamic link: AE renders in PP not working

Being new to Premiere I decided to try out the Dynamic Link function to AE. As a test a sent a clip from PP to AE and then applied a time remap effect, basically a speed ramp from 100% to freeze, using pixel motion to interpolate the missing frames. When I returned to premier I found the updated clip as an AE project as expected, however when I rendered in PP I found the ramp to freeze did not interpolate correctly, giving me some repeated frames as it came to a stop. However on returning to AE and rendering out to a file as usual, and importing into PP, I found the frames were correctly interpolated, with movement in every frame as the video came to a slow stop.

Am I rendering incorrectly in Premier? (I created a work area over the clip and used the ‘sequence / render entire work area’ command.

    Thanks! Ken.

UPDATE when I tried exporting the range from PP to disc (when weirdly I was not able to name the file or choose where it went) I discovered on playing back the AE ‘ramp to freeze time remap’ I embedded in PP I got frame blending interpolation as the clip slowed down…. I’m sure I must be missing something (and as an aside – how do I dictate where exports go, and give them file names?).

    Cheers, Ken.
