    Hi All
Im working in Ppro and AE, I have linked out to AE from premiere.
I have now tried to link back from AE into premiere and have successfully managed to get the clip to the source monitor.
The problem im having is that I cannot drag the clip into my existing sequence (the one i sent to AE) and I cant drag it into a new sequence either.
    Please can anyone help?
    Many Thanks
    Nick

I’m a bit confused to how you’re presenting your problem.

Tell me this, you have a video clip in the timeline in Premiere, what is your goal? What do you need to do to process it?

I ask because it sounds like you’ve dynamically linked a clip from Premiere to After Effects and trying to drag that back to Premiere? Depending on how you’re doing it, there are combinations that don’t work so I’d rather give you a new piece of rope (a new workflow) than try and untangle what you have already based on your end goal.

Thanks so much for your response.
Thats exactly what I was getting at, I have an edited sequence in premiere, I have sent it to AE through D/L, added titles etc in AE and then sent it back to premier again using D/L. I was hoping I could drag the linked AE sequence over top of the original premiere edit in order to keep the sound etc in place.
Is this possible or am I “@rse about face” to coin a term?

What I like to do is this..
    1. Select clip(s) to eventually sent to AE as DL.
    2. Hold down Option and drag up to Track 2 for both video and audio. Right click and deactivate them and turn audio off(or whatever the terminology is). Now you have a copy of your sequence.
    3. Select the clip(s) on Video and Audio Track 1 and Make an AE DL composition.

This way I have the original sequence in PrP if I need to change it for any reason.

Also to be clear, when you send clips to AE and a DL is created with PrP, once you are done working in AE, you dont have to Send it back. Just Tab back to PrP and the link is there and updated.
