I know this is the forum for you guys who have gone to HDV but I do not see a DVX100A forum listing so I am posting here. Hope you can help me out and don’t get too bent out of shape that I interjected my woes into your forum.

My camera (DVX100A) which is a little over a year old intermittently is giving me the warning – PSD NG. I called up Panasonic and the guy told me it sounded like there was something loose or fraying(connector etc.) involving the lense. Does that sound reasonable?

If it does, where should I send it to have it fixed? The guy gave me a company name and phone number (for Nivie Electronics). When I called, they said they no longer service digital cameras.

Thanks for any help or advice you can give me. I really appreciate it.

Try revisiting the Panasonic website, there’s a part of the DVX100 section with links to find a service center.

Funny I just droppped off my DVX-100A at Nivie for repair. Maybe they confused Digital Cameras with Digital camcorders over the phone. They certainly didn’t give me any reason to think they wouldn’t service my camcorder.

I had the same problem shortly after I bought my camera (also a DVX100A)It has something to do with “shake detection”. I had to have a whole new lens assembly and a new circuit board put in. Definately bring to an authorized Panasonic repair shop.

The two authorized repair centers I contacted both pointed out to me that this is a common failing of the DVX100A. In fact, there is a repair kit that will, hopefully, make a fix for $200. If not, the lens must be replaced – a $1000 repair.
