I used a Panasonic DVX100a for the first time. I shot 30FPS Progressive. I was wondering if anyone knows what the appropriate setting I should use in FCP to digitize and edit only the progressive frames. On a side note I have heard in the past that DVX100a’s sometimes have an audio sync problem. Is this true and if yes what is the work around.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

    Cheers,

Use the exact same setting for 30p that you normally use for 60i, which in North America would be a DV NTSC 48K timeline with your DVX100a footage.

    Hi Don,

Thanks for your reply. I used the standard FCP Basic DV NTSC settings to digitize some of the footage. When I check the footage properties info it states that the footage is 29.97 lower field dominate. If it is progressive then I expected there to be there be no fields? What am I not understanding?

    Thanks,

    Mike
