I am brand new to the group. Hope you can assist. We have an upcoming talking head two cam commercial. The client wishes the camera tapes to be in Digi-Beta form for their editing. What is the best way to accomplish this? Firewire, component? ?? THX

Not knowing what equipment you have limits the answer, but…
most DigiBeta VTRs have both composite and component analog video inputs, as well as SDI digital video in.
On the audio side balanced xlr analog inputs as well as AES/EBU digital and SDI.

    Martin,

If the client is specifing D-beta aquisition then you should shoot in that format. If you just try to shoot DV and transfer and tey are used to D-Beta camera rushes they will see a BIG difference.

24p to Digibeta can look awesome and certainly far more filmic than 60i Digibeta original. Now of course if the client says shoot Digibeta they will be not be fooled but if they say shoot something nice-looking and gives us the final version on Digibeta tape stock- you’ll be in business.
