dvx 100 or dvx 100b
Posted by Frenchie29 on December 5, 2007 at 11:12 pmI am looking to buy the dvx 100…. I would like to know from a user point of view what are the differences between both??
I’ve red and compare on both and actually used the 100 last week, but I would like to hear it from experienced users.

December 6, 2007 at 3:46 pmThe updates to the B are also worth the price. I have used all 3 versions and would always pick the B. Be aware of the under-scan feature on the B as it will effect composition when shooting for TV. If you have to choose between a used DVX 100 or a new DVX 100B, pick the B!

January 28, 2008 at 9:29 pmI own a DVX100 and it is great. The b they added a smoother zoom and some other features. For event videography and most commercial projects I think the DVX100 is fine. I’ve never used the “b”. I think it depends on your budget and what you are using the camera for. The images are beautiful on all these cameras especially with the 24p setting. I’ve used mine for broadcast television commercials right here at my work. This compares the “b” to the “a”:

February 3, 2008 at 9:31 amI’ve got the DVX-100 and currently have no further use for it because it shoots wide screen in a cropped mode rather that a squeeze mode.
This means much lower res in wide mode and I have to do a bunch of messing around to be able to edit it with me squeeze mode cameras.
Go for the 100, or save a step and switch to HDV now.
Cheers.
