Hello everybody, I was wondering if the “DVI to S-video” adapter for the Macbook pro is by any chance reliable for color adjustments on a proper broadcast monitor.
Is the preview from FCP at full resolution? is there something that i need to know about this portable solution? is it at Sync?

[enrico parenti] “Is the preview from FCP at full resolution?”

No. DVI out is not full resolution. It is a computer monitor signal.

[enrico parenti] “is there something that i need to know about this portable solution?”

It is fine for projection on a screen for an audience, but it is not color accurate.

[enrico parenti] “is it at Sync?”

“at sync?” In sync with your audio…yes, it should be.

If you want to get color accurate signal from your DVI port, you will need to get the Matrox MXO. That box extracts the proper signal from the DVI port.
