    Hi,
Here is my problem, hopefully someone has run into this and can help me out. It is something that i come across every so often and it burns me each time.
I have been working on a anamorphic project that is eventually going to be converted to 4×3 letterbox. When working on the end credits, for some stupid reason, I decided to build the titles and crawls in 4×3 screen mode rather than 16×9, so they come out looking squished when I change the video display back to 16×9. I think to myself, easy fix. just colapse all my title and graphic layers into one track, leaving one graphics/titles track and my show program track. I decide to risk losing a bit of crispness to the titles and put a DVE on it to stretch the titles back up again. Here is where it gets funky. The DVE affects the layer below the title layer and stretches my video too. I have not figured out how to get the DVE to only affect the layer in which it is applied. Am I crazy, or should this be an easy thing to do? Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for the longwindedness!

    Warm Regards,
    Lisa

    Try either of these two:
    a. Put a submaster FX on the mixdown track. Step into it and apply your DVE.

    b. Don’t mixdown (you have an original copy of your sequence, right?). Open 1 title, promote it to 3d, make your changes. ALT/Option drag the FX icon in the upper right hand part of the window to a bin (it will have the ‘without source’ suffix added). Select your titles using segment mode (there is an easier way, but I don’t remember it at this time of the morning!) by shift clicking. Double click your FX icon in the bin. Voila’!
