I’ve been downconverting HDV from the Sony HDV camera into FCP. I then export using the current setting which is NTSC 48khz. I take the exported .mov file, author it in DVDSP and burn the disk. About half of the time the build will take and I can burn the disk. Other times the process will encode the file, generate transitions, then finally the build will cancel with the error message “Invalid Video Asset”. Here is the problem, I took a project that was successful and burned just fine and changed a preferance because I had encoded as 16:9 instead of 4:3 and when I reburned the disk the “Invalid video asset” came up. What is happening? Why am I receiving this message? I would be very happy if this would stop. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Brian

What are the exact settings of your exported QT file (other than NTSC 48khz) ? Use Compressor to encode your files, you’ll have more control and won’t have to wait for DSP to build the project to know if the asset is good.
