DVDSP Button Activation and TV playback quality loss
Quick question, i have made all my DVD menus in FCP as MOV.
They have all been compressed in Compressor as needed.
I used the default apple button to overlay buttons and they simulate perfect when clicking with a mouse. But the problem is when it’s playing in a DVD player on a TV there is nothing that indicates what button is selected ie: highlighted, etc.
So on my TV DVD player I’m able to toggle through menus buttons with the remote ctrl but its completely blind cause there is nothing indicating which button selected.
Is the highlight / toggle indicator function something that has to be added in addition to the buttons? Or do I need to adjust something in the button settings?
I’m obviously missing a very important element that allows DVDSP to acknowledge text as a button. From other CC post I’ve seen something about creating layered overlay titles in PS that are needed to sit on top of the MOV? If someone could offer some simplicity to this and explain the steps I need to take in order for the buttons to function correctly it would be amazing. Also, my full res vid looks tack sharp on my computer both DVD and MOV. The whole thing was shot in 1080i on 5D and 7D. But when I play it on my home TV/DVD player it seems to lose a good bit of quality. Gets a bit pixelated and anything bright but not over exposed gets weird and glittery. My TV is a Vizio 720P that’s a few years only so not sure its not able to handle some of the stuff? Any ideas why this is? Are you aware of any adjustments that could improve the playback quality on DVD players? My current disk setting are SD DVD, NTSC, 720 x 480i
Thanks a ton for any advice, its truly appreciated it.
K
