I am burning Dvd+R lightscribe media with DVDA3. So far no one has said it won’t work. What is the general compatibility with home dvd players?

Depends on the media code of the media you are using. Most newer players are able to play DVD+R discs.

It will increase the compatibility with DVD drives/players if you set the booktype to DVD-ROM. Most burner producing companies provide a utility for changing the booktype of a DVD. At my drive I set it once and it does it automatically for every burned DVD.

I use mainly DVD-R discs for burning – never had compatibility issues yet – even on one the first dvd players I bought many moons ago (I always use it for a test)..

The dvd+ lightscribe disks I’ve made, using TDK and Memorex, were very dependent on the player. For me it wasn’t worth it and I’ll be sticking to dvd-. UJ

I realy like the lightscibe label burning. The disks I have been using are Verbatim. I tried it out originally on a panasonic DVD player which was the very first affordable commercial player released many years ago. It worked just fine on this and, so far, every other player that it has been tried on (only released this video last week, so about 20 or so) I just want to know what my options are if I start receiving returns.
    Thanks,
    Michael

I told you it will help to change the Book Type. Here more information:

So no need at all to give up your DVD+R.
