  • DVDLabPro – How to make a DVD w/ both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio videos

    Hi,

First off I’m working with DVDLabPro 2.0 and Sony Vegas 7

I wanted to know if there is a way to make a DVD w/ both 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio videos, without having to letterbox either of them. Granted, they’ll be letterboxed on the TV, but if you’d watch em on a computer, they’d both show up in correct ratio so letterbox

I’ve tried just putting them both on and rendering but it changes the aspect ratio of all the movies to that of the 1st movies.

    thanks
    -Alex

It’s in the encoding you do this, NOT DVDLabPro (or any authoring program, as far as I know). Whatever encoder you’re using you have to set the 16×9 flag. I typically export an anamorphic QT Ref file from Avid then import that into the encoder flag it as 16×9 material.
