DVDA3 Setting thumbernail time problem
Posted by Hanseric28 on August 10, 2005 at 12:11 pmI am trying to enter a time for the thumbernail image instead of dragging the handle. when entering 00:00:41:12 it jumps to the end of the video file. if entering 041 it jumps to approximately 40 seconds. If entering 41 it jumps some where else. If entering 150 it jumps to some thing like 3 minutes.
Does any one know the logic behind this problem?

August 10, 2005 at 3:08 pmI have a simular problem. useing the arrow keys to advance to the proper frame for the thumbnail i want..instead of moving frame by frame it jumps from 17-40 sec depending on which computor i use. I posted this problem and got the usual…hold down the control key while useing the arrows – i have tried holding down just about every key to the same result. I have also expanded the view to frame view and this diddnt help either.
Still confused

August 11, 2005 at 5:34 amJeditdv: I am using 3.0a and I have not tried 3.0b yet but are you entering the time code in some special way? The way I am doing it is moving into the time code and changing. When pressing enter it usually changes the time code to the last frame in the mpeg file. Which version are you running?

August 11, 2005 at 11:36 amI have now tested some more. Holding down ctrl helps allot when dragging the handle. When I am entering a time code in Button properties – Media – Thumbnail – Start time. 100 will give me the time 00:01:40:00(100 sec). 90 will give me 00:00:03:15 (90 frames). 090 will give me 00:01:33:15 (?) the only logic might be if 00:01:30:00(90sec) + 00:00:03:15 (90 frames). 03000 will give me 02:50:00:00 (?) 3000 will give me 00:50:00:00 (3000sec)
Is it only me or does some one else have this problem? -
