I am trying to make highlights for buttons. I have the text animated with the video as part of the motion menu. Then I have a highlight going under each text name for the navigation. I built the DVD in Encore, and it worked great, but the transitions between menu and video are not smooth. So I switch to DVDA. I am now running into this problem where I use the .PSD file for the menus & button highlights, but the highlights are showing up as static buttons. So how can I have them in DVDA from a .PSD file only show when highlighted?

    Please help!!!

    Thank you,

    Jeremy

Did you follow the layer naming methodology in the manual?

This is one area of DVDA that could use some improvement and better instructions. (If anyone has a working PSD file, please share it and the DAR file with us).

It appears that all DVDA does with the layers is to put the individual layer into the correct location in the menu and/or button properties, according to the layer name. Also, the highlight layer scales to match your button, which I think is just wrong, wrong, wrong. I should be able to make a highlight layer with a different mask for each button, where I want it to appear. But DVDA doesn’t let me do this. It takes the whole layer and scales it to fit the button.

I don’t think that I am alone in this issue. DVDA is a great program and I haven’t found many things that Hollywood DVD’s do with menus that I couldn’t replicate in DVDA, but the PSD layers feature is just broken.
