    Gurus –

I am finalizing a DVDA project. Per client request, I have the video set up to play introductory media when the DVD is first placed into a DVD player and it cannot be bypassed. Once this finishes playing, we have two menu choices – “Play Entire Lecture” and “Chapter Navigation Menu”. If you select the Chapter menu, you are taken to a chapter menu with 12 choices. You can go backwards, forwards, back to the menus, etc. BUT if you hit the stop button on the remote, it kicks you back to where you have to watch the intro media again. Is there anyway I can change this to where it will just either pause or kick me back to the chapter navigation menu? I have read through the help files but it appears I do not have that option.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using DVDA 4.5, build 39.

This may actually depend on the DVD player. On some that I have, when you press STOP and then PLAY it picks up where it left off on the DVD (it actually says RESUME on the screen for a brief moment when you hit play). On others it starts the DVD again. This is not a behavior of the disc but rather of the player. My advice is to use the pause key unless you are finished watching.

    John –

Thank you for the input. I wondered about this because on my player it does the same thing. When you hit stop, you can then hit resume and it will continue to play. I suspect my clients have a very old DVD player so I can now tell them it is probably an issue with their DVD player.

Again thank you for getting back to me.
