DVDA ignores menus; skips to video stream
MENU PLEASE
Many times I have dropped mpgs onto a DVDA page and burn out a sample for associates. You press the button and there it plays�not this time�
After spending days just getting the simple graphics right for a project I was happy to see pages link up correctly in DVDA preview. Everything was fantastic until I started dropping in mpg2 files onto page 2 (menu 2) and these weren�t even the main program files but little sidebar mpgs for a list of website references.
Though the preview window looked good with the buttons and mpg text buttons linking correctly–actual DVD discs and TS video trials
were another thing.There is page 1 Main Menu which will contain 3 direct video tabs and one link to page 2 (menu 2)–and on that page 2 will be general text information and the two tabs for the short sidebar mpegs (reference material). I only got as far as those two reference videos.
Tests were done dropping the 2 mpgs into the project window making sure they were under page 2. After burning the menu pages (both of them) were ignored entirely and one of the streams started playing right away and in a somewhat less obvious way on discs played to view. You could get back to these menus but only by making the remote do it. I checked and double checked the properties of the menu and the media. I looked up all of the options for end actions etc and figured hold is the best status for the menu (after all its just a bunch of words) and not to specify a time.
So after all failed I started over on a clean slate; new file. I put in the graphics anew and then just dropped the mpegs in the old fashioned way onto the front page 1. Forget page 2 Forget a second menu. Just see if this sucker does the same thing with direct video links on the front end like Iâ��d always done. The same thing happened–Menu skipped and one stream begins playing ! it happened in the TS file and on WinDVD–it reacted more sanely on a regular DVD player but somewhat dubiously and I say that because disc trials have been somewhat shaky it ends up doing what Win DVD does after a few go rounds. I better depend first on what I see in DVDA or the winDVD because some will watch the film on their computer though Iâ��d prefer notâ�¦I also tried the clunky option of putting a submenu in on the front page and putting three test mpegs on that. Guess what! While It didnâ��t start playing one of them immediately the main menu was ignored again and went straight to the

3. MpgMenu means menu–it should default to a static shot. But its not. It goes right to one of the mpeg reference rolls immediately !! During one of these futile runs DVDA actually asked me to re-compress this dinky mpeg which was only some 20+mb. Really !! But the menu skip has defaulted to other mpegs as well.

Can you send the DAR file to me- no media is needed. I do multipage DVD menus all the time.
