  • DVDA flashes 4:3 then reverts to 16:9

I have a 16:9 PAL DVD project to deliver. Source is HDV rendered out to Sony DVDA PAL widescreen template (mpeg-2). Footage has been rendered as VBR.

This project has multiple chapters which I have created thumbnail images for in a DVDA 5.2 16:9 PAL project. When I test preview the DVD in DVDA, the menu briefly stretches vertically (it flashes quickly) then the selected video segment plays as normal. When tried in a DVD player, the menu does not stretch but as the selected item begins to play, it briefly plays with vertical black bars (letterbox) at what appears to be 4:3 for about 1/4 a second and then assumes correct 16:9 ratio.

Any ideas what is causing this?

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6
