I have a vegas clip thats one hour and fourty one minutes long. MPEG2 and AC3 then into dvda2…….. The clip is 4.9GB and it won’t burn it. I have a setting of 8 burn rate but i’ve tried fit to disc and then for it to set it’s own setting to fit it on. It will say the data is too large to fit on the available disc space, Ive tried to continue anyway and it ejects the disc saying the same thing. Can someone tell me what i’m doing wrong? I’ve burned dvd’s before that was that long. Thanks , Gary

If my video is under 70 min., I usually use a CBR of 8,000.
Anything over and I reach for my bitrate calculator.
In your case (1 hr. 41 min.), I get a CBR of 5,700 or VBR (Min., Avg., Max.) values of 3,400, 5,700, 9,600. I stick to a Max of 8,000 so I substitute this for the 9,600 value.

Gary, you can also take a look at Vol 1 #7 of my newsletters. There’s a bitrate chart there along with other info.
