DVDA Chapters No Audio
I’ve got Gary Kleiner’s DVDA2 Training DVD. Following along with Gary in Chapter 11, I input an MPG2 file (Gary uses an AVI file named Titanic)into the Project Overview window and then add markers in DVDA2. Then right click on the green filmstrip icon and select “Insert scene selection menu”. Then preview the chapters and there’s no sound!
Is this because I’m using MPG2 files while Gary is using AVI files? Do I have to use AVI and render in DVDA2?

Depends on what sort of MPEG2s you’re using. If you use a template such as “DVD NTSC(PAL)” this will include audio, but if you use “DVDArchitect NTSC(PAL) Video Stream” you then need to render the audio separately, either as PCM wav or ac3.
Make sure they have the same name as the video stream and are in the same folder, then DVDA will find them automatically.Peter Wright

Good point, Peter. I’m using the DVDA MPG2 video stream only template and also rendering a separate AC-3 file.
There’s audio during preview when the MPEG file is dropped on MENU1, right click to select “Insert Separate Chapters”…
But there’s no audio when the MPEG file is dropped on the Project Overview, right click to select Insert Separate Chapters!
It’s as thought the MPEG file can’t link to the AC-3 file via the Project Overview.

OK, finally figured it out with some help from the SONY Forum…Had to drag the AC-3 file onto the DVDA 2.0 timeline in the media window…that simple!

Well, the MPEG file wasn’t linking to the AC-3! All I had to do was through the AC-3 onto the DVDA timeline. Now everything’s fine.
