I have three videos I renderend in vegas 4 to mpegs, two are approx 600mb and one is 500mb. I try to bring them in to DVDA-4 and the note at the bottom right of the screen tells me there is not enough space on the disc. It shows the 54 min video that is actually 600 mb, as 2.4gb. It won’t let me put three videos in to prepare and burn. It seems like there should be plenty of room on the disc. Any ideas? Thanks

Just ignore the warning. Experienced users know that DVDA is laughingly conservative with estimating space requirements. If you know that your MPEG2 and AC3 files are less than 4.3Gb, then you shouldn’t have any problems in DVDA. (If you use lots of menus, extras folders or Jacket Picture in your DVD, you need to allow for those as well, but for most users, 4.3Gb will work).

To their defense, estimating filesize of an encode is just that – an estimate. NO program can accurately predict how well an encoder will compress a video file without actually encoding it.

Steve thanks for the info. I will give that a try when I get back to the studio. On a road trip right now but will try it over the weekend. Have a great week!
