Could be a few things. First thing I would check, do those computers have the correct software to play a DVD? Not all computers are pre-installed with DVD software.

Is this a regular DVD, ie…one that will play in a set top player, burned through sonic or encore or a data with and you burned a mpeg, wmv or avi file? That could be a codec error.

I have tried thru sonic free trial as an mpeg and the other computers in the house won’t play it.
the client can’t import it to play in Vegas 8 or Quick time.

I don’t know about Vegas, but QT doesn’t play DVD’s. The MPEG is transcoded and the files are converted to VOB’s on the disc. First check and see if this DVD will play in a standard DVD player. If it does than you know that it’s been burned okay, and the issue is the computers that are trying to play it. Try playing a store bought DVD in those computers-anything. It sounds like the computers just don’t have a DVD player installed.

One other thought – Did you finalize the DVD? Is that an option on your burner? I’ve had standard DVD-R that had to be finalized before they would play on any other player. Not so for DVD-RW.

also I sent it to sorenson squeeze and burned it there.
