DVD to prores problems
Hi everyone:
I’m having a problem: Converting some old footage in DVD to Prores for editing it in FCP7, it happens that, when i open the DVD using VLC, the time counter stops wen the video reaches 52 seconds, but the image continues till the end of the footage, with the time stoped at 52 seconds. Then, when i use Streamclip to convert, it only converts the first 52 seconds (it’s a short clip, a couple of minutes, but i need it all…)
Is there any possible solution or i should go to the source of the dvd and ask for another copy?

VLC is a player, not the proper application to make any kind of conversion.
Use MPGStreamclip and convert the audio to PMC 48Khz, so can be edited in FC without recprocessing.

I haven’t explained muself correctly: I am already usinf Streamclip, but it seems it is not recognising the footage without timecode…

OK.
Are you traying to transcode directly from the disk?
If so, try to copy the VOBs to your computer and run MPPGStreamclip on them.
If you can copy the VOBs on your HD, them they may have some protection.
In that case you will need to use MacTheRipper or so.
