DVD to Final Cut workflow
Hello everyone,
I’m doing a big project soon that requires ripping video from DVD and putting it into Final Cut to work with. If anyone could send me a link or tutorial or simply offer advice for the best way of doing this, that would be great. Thanks!

MPEG Streamclip (free) is the answer. Choose Export DVD>Quicktime and select DVCPro50 or ProRes 422 as your codecs of choice.

DVDxDV.com is also a good choice. If MPEG STREAMCLIP gives you any trouble…use that.

I use Cinematize Pro for ripping my DVDs into a QT format. There are a handful of settings for video quality and audio sync. Hope that helps! Also an app, Mac the Ripper, lets your rip the VIDEO TS (DVD build) from the disc and save it on your computer. That way you always have it handy for converting, and you won’t need the physical disc.
