I am wondering why my text is so jagged when I render to an MPEG 2 and make a SD DVD. I am working in HD, and the footage looks pretty good (for downconverted SD), but my text develops jagged edges on the project. I would think that with the 1920X1080 text smaller, it would look even cleaner on DVD. Any ideas as to how I can make that text look better when making an SD DVD?

    Thanks,

    Mark

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. Somewhere amongst the up and down converts you’ve saddled yourself with an out of kilter format mismatch. Slowly audit and review just what you’ve done – I’m thinking along the lines that somewhere in there an upcomvetted SD generated media is holding an SD flag and that is not playing ball with your final DVD render. Does that make sense.

When Jonny wakes up an gets back here he may very well put his searchlight-like logic finger on it. Apologies for the mixed metaphor.

    Grazie
