I am creating a menu in DVD Studio pro and successfully making a DVD. The final DVD plays well on a mac but when I play it on a windows PC there are some pixilated flash frames appearing after pressing the PLAY VIDEO button and before the film itself starts. Any ideas?

How does it play on a DVD player? What device is the final release intended for?

The PC is using software to play the DVD, which could be adding the garbage that you’re seeing. I agree with Robert. Try it on a “real” DVD player and see what happens. If the flash frame doesn’t happen, then I’d safely conclude that it’s the software on the PC that can’t handle it.

We’ve definitely had the same behavior from some Windows software players. I would recommend ensuring you have sufficient black at whichever end you’re having the problem. Recently I was supplied video which started immediately with picture, and one of the Windows software players we tested displayed large blocks of color; the problem was solved with 1 second of black added to the start.
