DVD Studio Pro freezing during encoding
I author DVDs in DVD Studio Pro 3 on a G5. Very often, while encoding assets, it will stop at around 21% and the whole computer will freeze, the fan (I think that’s what the noise is) will kick in hard, and I have to power off and restart the computer. Is this a common problem? Or do I have DFO issues? 😉 This has happened more than a dozen times. Generally I have to restart the system and begin again. . . today it has done it three times and it’s just now getting to 22% again. . . we’ll see what happens. Any thoughts?

Have you tried using Compressor as a stand alone app? I used to have the same problem in DVDSP2 as you’re having in version 3 and I stopped using DVDSP for encoding a long time ago. Using Compressor ended up being much more reliable for me.
